I saw this phrase on a social media site this morning……..
“The howl of the wolf is sacred.”
I used to docent at a zoo, my favorite spot was the wolf enclosure. There were certain times of the day when the pack would congregate and howl. Sometimes, other circumstances brought other howls, but my early morning routine was the one I cherished most, listening to the early morning song.
I am sure you have all heard wolf howls, TV, horror movies, and YouTube, of course. You can listen to just about anything nowadays on Youtube. It’s a good thing, I even have my own EVP sessions on site.
But if you have never sat close to a pack of wolves and heard them howl, you have missed an experience as close to “sacred and primal” as this earth can bring.
Maybe it is the wolf in all of us, buried deep inside. The primal instinct we feel we have evolved beyond……
Yes, we have evolved, but it is still within.
Perhaps that is why the howl of the wolf is such a magickal experience; it brings us home….
home to a time when we walked among the wolves as kindred spirits.
What a loss if the wolf should perish from the earth, and silence that howl and that connective voice to our kindred spirits.
Protect them, they are not man’s enemies, they are mirrors to our deepest soul.
Namaste,
Shirl
Love this…Animals as Teachers and Healers…old book great stories and follows the same beliefs.

If one hears the howl of a wolf and it does not touch their soul perhaps they don’t have one.
