I watched an intriguing PBS special last evening. I believe all things have energy, each rock, each being, each color on the vibrational scale. Last night’s show focused on the wondrous energy of plants. Scientists are uncovering much more hidden beneath leafy green stems than once perceived.
Plants don’t have nervous systems, or at least, not like ours. But they feel pain, they feel stress, they feel love and nurturing.
Everyone knows that fresh smell of newly cut grass…well, the scientific world is learning how the release of oils in the air is a signal of stress…….
I absolutely adore trees, the sound of a chain saw makes me cringe….now the scientific world is agreeing with my heart. Being cut or pruned is stressful, plants feel this sensation…..is it pain….
Even more touching, a scientist in British Columbia is learning how the giant old world firs actually nurture baby saplings in the forest.
Radioactive carbon is injected in the large trees, they utilize this as food. Geiger counters trace the path of the carbon…….directly to the little saplings. Touching, isn’t it.
Plants have been proven to recognize family members…..yes, you read correctly. Plants recognize seedlings from the same mother plant. They don’t show the same agressive nature to fight for the light as when put in small space with an unrelated chum. They research this phenomenon with time lapse photography. In unrelated plants, “plant bullying” (a survival attempt at the best light and water) is revealed. Family members “share.”
I always knew plants had energy. Yes, I admit it. I talk to my plants. That probably doesn’t surprise anyone reading this, since I work as an animal communicator.
Each plant and flower around us is communicating to us and each other as well.
