“There is Danger in the Search for Hidden Meanings”

I just read a disturbing opinion on the “racist” innuendos of Mary Poppins.   Yes, you read that right…..  Mary Poppins and Dick Van Dyke in blackface?????????????????   Chimney sweep dust…….racist??????????????

If we all start searching in movies and books for innocuous scenes and paragraphs that one could  find hidden meanings within, we will have a movement that makes the Spanish Inquisition look like a field day in the park.

Is this what our world is coming to……free speech and writer’s creativity inspected under the microscope for hidden agendas and motives?

At least in the Inquisition you all saw the enemy approaching with their lighted torches…….I see a much more pervasive beam of darkness, not light, advancing……..an enemy whose tentacles of judgement may have a vast reach on our society’s voice.

Here is the Mary Poppins article
