“For Two of my Favorite Artists”

Today,  1986,  the deserts and mesas and mountains lost a friend………Georgia O’Keefe’s paintbrushes sang no more.

Another friend was left behind, although for too short a time.   One of my favorite artists, Dan Fogelberg.   I have written about him before in this blog.  He wrote this song for Georgia, a personal friend.  My words can’t match his beautiful ones, so I will let him speak for me today.

As Dan so eloquently wrote ,  Georgia’s hands and heart breathed beauty into her art.

In a way, she sang through her paintings…….of the places she loved.

This day must have been blessed by the Angels’ paintbrushes, for Michelangelo was born on this day as well,  in 1475.
