“Learning to Say No”

One of the hardest lessons in life is no……..

When to say no.

Yes is all sunshine and laughter and pats on the back……

No is resentment, and guilt, and a constant nagging from the part of the brain that wants praise, and love, and, as the season heralds….tidings of comfort and joy.

But those are the key words.

Comfort and joy.

Is yes comfortable for you, does it bring you joy.

Or does yes bring another boring party, another tedious meal to prepare, another workload on your shoulders.

It is no wonder yes rhymes with stress……..the two go hand in hand.

Say yes too many times and the stress leads you down a dangerous path of no’s……..

No time, no joy, no relaxation and further along on that path…..tidings of even more negatives.

I spent several years as a member of a Volunteer Healing Network.  It was a wonderful experience, but years of doing so had become very draining on my own energy.

And I had to say no.  No, for my own energy’s sake.  I often do readings and sessions voluntarily; but I have learned to know when too many yes’s can take a toll.

And though I hope others understand, sometimes they do not.

Saying no is “knowing” when to let your own comfort and joy come first…..a very important lesson to remember, especially during this stressful time of too many yes’s……

Make yourself joyful….only then, can others around you feel the same.

Holiday Blessings for Joy and Comfort…….
