“Happy Birthday, Oscar Wilde”

On this day, in 1854, Dublin welcomed a gifted soul into the world of literature. One of my favorite writers, Oscar Wilde, a life of darkness and of light, which flowed from his pen.
Perhaps my favorite tale of all time, The Happy Prince, I still cannot get through this without tearing eyes.
If you love fairy tales, read Oscar Wilde’s stories. Beautiful and poignant, they embrace all the emotions that Oscar had to keep hidden in his life.
I have said it many times before in my blogs; the most prolific and gifted writers have dealt with demons of their own.
Though dark, these demons produce such exquisite legacies of light.

Namaste,
Shirl
