“I am a Senior Pet”

amazon bookI had a little epiphany moment this afternoon.
If I were a pet at the shelter, I would be overlooked or euthanized.
I would be a senior.
Let’s face it, the years have whittled away the zip in my step a bit…the joints aren’t what they used to be.
Eyesight….that sure is moving downhill….
I carry a bit extra weight.
I have had my “litter”…..thankfully, one at a time.
Teeth, well……I help support my dentist.
So, I would be the one passed by…….the one too old to give a chance.
Too old to love, or be loved.
Now think about your heart …… has it grown too old to love?
Well, their hearts haven’t either…..even though they grow old way too quicker than us.
Most of us are a lot like them; we share a lot in common, including a love of life that doesn’t dwindle with the passing of time.
Adopt a senior pet today…….share your years together.
