“Stoops”

I was reading a magazine last night, a prominent force in the publication world. In the decorating section, a phrase caught my eye…..
the house was visually disconnected from the yard
WHAT???
If my house were visually disconnected with my yard; I think I would heading to the optometrist, not the landscape designer.
Anyway, with the creation of a new expanded stoop, new stairs and greenery…..both plant and monetary……visual connection was achieved.
Funny, a stoop in my childhood days was for socially connecting with neighbors, friends, relatives….all living within walking distance on a hot summer night.
Now, a stoop connects house to garden………both becoming more and more spaces of loneliness.

Namaste,

Shirl
