9~11

remembrance 911If there are days that live in infamy in one’s life……then, certainly 9~11 is one of mine.
A day that brings the saddest of sorrows and the fondest of memories……
I was near to the Towers when they fell; I stood across the water at Liberty State Park at the Statue of Liberty.
I saw them on fire, I saw them fall…I saw the tremendous cloud of smoke that enveloped the entire sky.
I never thought this day could bring happiness again, but it did.
Eight years ago, it brought my Little Guy to me.
If you read my book, “Birdsong, Barks, and Banter,” you will understand.
A life changing day for my heart……for the worse and for the better……
Peace,
Shirl

I took this photograph last night, leaving a restaurant with a view of the NY skyline in the distance. Overhead, a beautiful crescent moon was glowing in the night sky, helping illuminate our flag.
