“Autumn in Sleepy Hollow”

between seasonsYesterday was a beautiful, early fall day at Sleepy Hollow. Yes, I know the calendar still says summer; but yesterday’s cool temperatures and breeze brought autumn to mind. And the trees at Sleepy Hollow agreed.
What better time to visit Sleepy Hollow than the autumn….the season of death and rebirth…..
The leaves seemed to play out this theme for me yesterday.
Some, eager to begin a new journey, already fallen to the ground and changed color.
Some, hanging fiercely in the breeze, pointing their green faces toward the sun.
Yes, autumn trees are a lot like people…..some let go easily, some hang fiercely on……..
Each beautiful, and each on his intended path in the Universe.
This leaf seemed to be captured in time….between the season of death and rebirth.
