“Narcissus”

Tiny yellow faces are still hiding behind their green curtained leaves…..
But they will come out to play soon…..
Beautiful daffodils….the first harbingers of Spring.
Ancient Greek lore tells of a youth, so captivated by his own beauty, he fell into a pool while gazing upon his own reflection.
The Gods turned him into a Narcissus flower…..also known as Daffodil.
Thought by some to be common, I always smile at the first daffodils……their yellow trumpets heralding the song of Spring, which….. to many of us this year, is long awaited. Their quiet, unfragrant beauty brightens up the world…..
Perhaps the lesson for Narcissus……..
So, today, I listen for the daffodil’s song….telling the world how beautiful their little yellow faces are…..quietly hiding beneath their leafy curtains.

Namaste,
Shirl
