“Do Dogs have Tooth Fairies”

My dear friend Julia sent me a beautiful story last night, about a little, dog with no eyes, rotten teeth……..well, one of my candidates for the Canine Top Model Award.
The story made me smile.
My Tad left me a present the other day, his tooth, in the middle of the hallway.
He had just been chewing on a Fig Newton. I know, not the healthiest option, but at Tad’s age, about 200, a little treat is permissible. And he loves Fig Newtons.
Well, this Fig Newton got the best of him.
Tad’s teeth are a dentist’s worst nightmare. The vet doesn’t want to pull them. Tad’s jaw is horribly misshapen; if we pull his teeth, his tongue will have no place to go except hanging out of his mouth.
So, for now, we keep them in, or try to. Perhaps, now, my Tad’s breath will be a “tad” less aromatic…….One can only hope.
At least his tooth went down in battle sweetly………..
Tad is no worse for the wear, he still wants his cookies……:-)
