“The Family Left Behind”

Rescuers all have a fear inside…….
What happens to the family left behind…..
I have adopted a few dogs whose owners have died…..either the family didn’t want an elderly dog who had accidents in the home, or the home held so many in a hoarding situation, there was no family to go to……..
I find the stories about siblings the most heartwrenching…….yes, pets become siblings. They love their brothers and sisters just like human family members do.
Their bonds are strong, I worry when I see scared faces looking up at me from the computer screen….
I pray they can remain together, but chances of finding a home when you are past a certain age is hard enough, finding a home for two or more is even harder.
I once adopted brothers….old men. I tell their story in my book.
It is just a fact of life…..our loves and responsibilities in life may be the burdens of others in our life.
If your home is empty and in need of some loving companionship, and you have the capability of adopting more than one……then please search out the siblings left behind…..
Those huddled in cages with fear in their eyes, so lost and afraid from losing beloved owners, now so lost and afraid of losing each other…….
