“The Last Laugh”

I have eclectic tastes in music…..I think music lingers in our old souls….longing for Celtic tunes embraces perhaps walks along the heather centuries ago…..the lilting bagpipes harken to old clan memories, and so forth.

My drive between Gettysburg and NJ takes several hours.  Sometimes, it is a quiet one; sometimes we listen to CDS, audio books, and sometimes, radio.

One late night, my husband was surfing the channels and one particular station was irritating me.  I told him so, and to get “a rise out of me”…….he started surfing the waves of radio, finding the most annoying music he could find……it is amazing what stations are out there late at night…….

He surfed through each genre……and he found some “winners.”  All the while, I sat there, poker faced, not giving in to his enjoyment of the situation.  All the while, my daughter sat in the back seat, hysterical.

Finally, he settled upon what he thought was his masterpiece ……. Medieval music.  Little did he know, I LOVE it.  I sat there quietly, listened, and memorized the artist at the end.  I bought the CD………

Sometimes, being quiet gets one the last laugh………….

Namaste,

Shirl
