“I’ll have a Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Pumpkin, Spice, Cocoa Latte to go”

The Autumn season special coffees and lattes are out……they sound delicious, but it’s enough to make one’s head spin.  It seems competitors try to outdo each other with the list of ingredients all crammed into the name……

Same with fruit juices…I remember when I was a kid….it was orange…..maybe if it was an extravagant day, we’d have grape.  Thanksgiving was always eggnog.  Now the juice aisle spans two sides of the supermarket row…….from pomegranate, cherry, blueberry to strawberry, peach, kiwi…..It’s great, but where does it end……..

My childhood A & P tea aisle had your choice of teas…..Lipton or Tetley……..now it’s green, white, black, english, herbal with exotic spices and herbs from all corners of the earth.

In all this array, finding healthy choices with untainted ingredients is still my goal…..and it isn’t easy.

Maybe instead of coming out with the thousand and first flavor of tea or juice, or coffee, or processed food……. we should concentrate on making the ones already on the shelf as pure and healthy as possible…….

Just a frustrated shopper’s musing for the day……
