“Never Bite Down Hard on a Pitted Olive”

If there is one thing I’ve learned in life, it’s never bite down hard on a pitted olive.  I think this is a good metaphor for living in general…….the pitted olive jar is delicious, but take it slow, and chew wisely, for there are pits lurking…….

Pits that evade technology, sneak  out of nowhere, and wreak havoc to your teeth and life.

Cherry pies scare me too…….there’s always a pit hanging around in that gooey, red sweetness.  Dried fruit too…….there is often a pit hiding in there.

Chew slow, enjoy the slice or the bite, and be prepared for that surprise pit life throws your way.

Sometimes, pits wait in the least expected places.  I once took a bite of a well known jar of salsa…….

It was the Charlie Brown jar………..I got a rock.   I wrote the company, and got the usual……”these things happen” reply………..I know the fine print says these things happen in cherries and olives……..but salsa…….

Yes, rocks and pits are part of life…….”these things happen”………you have to live and take a bite anyway.
