“Cats, Dogs, and Windows”

 Cats love windows……

Indoor cats, trapped in the comfort and safety of a carpeted room, long for the wild grasses of the neighborhood jungle.

Forever watching the birds, longing for the chase; alas, a catnip mouse will be the only conquest for their souls.

My daughter adopted a cat; he now stays inside.  He once roamed, we know, because we learned of his previous life.  A battle scarred ear, maybe fighting for his Juliet, still marks his heroism.

He sits at the window, longing for his roams of nighthood in the neighborhood, but now must be content to only dream of former days of chivalry.

Mostly, he sleeps, perchance to dream……..

Dogs are different…..

Dogs love windows….

But usually, it is to run to watch their loved ones coming home or sorrowfully watch them leave for the day.

The wild fibers of a nice fuzzy bed or tennis ball are enough of a conquest for most of our canine companions.

Each companion gives us his or her heart in a special way……

As I pass by, I like to watch dogs and cats at windows………

To me, they are windows to their souls………
