“Salem’s Witch Trials”

Today began a dark chapter in American justice and freedom….

March 1st, 1692…….

The Salem Witch trials commenced…..

Witch hunts send shivers down my spine, no matter which century……

And, frightfully, I worry those bonfire embers could easily be flamed again with the right gust of hysteria…..

When I became a Reiki Master; I dealt with my own personal embers……

Members of my own family didn’t accept Reiki…….I  have lost contact with a fervently religious relative who saw it as being against the church……….

And sadly,  the church still sees it as heresy…….even though many Catholic Nuns use the principles of  Reiki in hospitals……..

I have gotten hate emails……sent anonymously, warning of the practice of Reiki witchcraft…….

I would by lying if I said these emails did not upset me; but I chose to never respond…. I would only be fueling those embers if I had tried…….

Reiki is the belief that every being and every manifestation of the Universe has energy; it is not affiliated with any religion; except, perhaps,  the religion of light and goodness.

We all could use some swift winds of goodness to fan the flames of human kindness nowadays……

Today, remembering those that suffered, those that were innocently persecuted and met their deaths when winds of hysteria fanned the flames of human ignorance and fear.
