“Knowing where to Stand”

“Knowing where to stand”……..Ansel Adams said those words………

A good photograph is knowing where to stand……I think it takes much more than that to be a master, such as Adams……..Today is his birthday, and so this blog will pay homage to his legacy of photographs and reverence for the natural world.  He was criticized for not photographing human subjects, I don’t often photograph human subjects…….I like to see the natural world through my lens and hope at times, I know “where to stand.”

“Sometimes I do get to places just when God’s ready to have somebody click the shutter”…………also, his own words……..
Ansel, you knew where to stand and exactly which moment to choose……your photographic intuition showed you when God was ready………
Happy Birthday….your photographs bring nature’s most “perfect moments” to life every time your images are viewed……..
God is agreeing with you today………

Namaste,

Shirl

My favorite photo is the oak tree covered in ice. I have it hanging at the end of our hallway so I see it every time I go anywhere downstairs. Love his photographs.
