The Song of Birds……..

I am grateful for the birds who sing within the depths of winter.  Amidst the snow laden branches, their hopeful song harkens a distant spring.  Birds are such beautiful creatures.  I have shared my home with a myriad of birds, their loyalty to a mate and their bravery to battle weakness has always left an indelible impression on me.   Holding a sick one in my hands, I have felt the aura of life surrounding him and knew it would not be long before his wings ascended final flight.  They have uniqueness, strong parental responsibility,  distinct personalities……. they feel love, they grieve…….

Much like us……

Take a moment and listen to the song of birds today…….

Even in the depths of winter, it can be heard if you listen………

 Namaste,

Shirl

I Heard a Bird Sing

I heard a bird sing

In the dark of December

A magical thing

And sweet to remember.

“We are nearer to Spring

Than we were in September,”

I heard a bird sing

In the dark of December.
